Speed-Friending and the History of Jewish Matchmaking

  • VFW Park Campbell Rd and Lincoln Ave Royal Oak, MI 48067 (map)

Since the beginning of time we've been making meaningful connections, but after a year of quarantine and social distancing, we're out of practice! Whether online dating isn't your thing or you're just looking to meet some new friends, young adults are invited to join us to learn about the rich history of Jewish matchmaking!

Together we'll dive into what the Jewish wisdom tradition has to say about matchmaking, facilitated by Rabbi Jeff Stombaugh of The Well and Rising Kohenet Na’amah Segal Karas, Program Manager at Congregation Shaarey Zedek. Then we'll hear from professional matchmaker Lisa Chaben about her successful business, Match with Lisa, and philosophy behind finding the perfect match, and we'll finish out the evening with some speed-friending! This event is not limited to singles, young adult couples are also welcome!

This event will take place entirely outdoors under the pavilion at VFW Park. Due to the generosity of donors, there is no charge to attend, but advance registration is required below. Masks are optional for those fully vaccinated. We'll start promptly at 7pm, so feel free to arrive a few minutes early to grab a snack and get settled.
